."Modern architecture" did not come about in the last decade.  The modernist movement gained prominence throughout Europe and the United States in the early 20th century. Carrying on the tradition of Texas Modernism initiated by famous architects of the 1920s and '30s, the use of steel, stone and glass stylishly accentuate the popular "boxiness" of lines that help to create spaces reminiscent of a five-star boutique hotel.
